New Director General will rally the ÆßÐDzʿª½± community to move forward
Diane Gauvin will be the new Director General of ÆßÐDzʿª½±. On Nov. 18, following a recommendation from the Selection Committee and unanimous support from Senate, the Board of Governors appointed her to a five-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2021.
Diane has strong assets to lead a vision for ÆßÐDzʿª½± and to rally and engage the community to move forward on that vision, according to the Board of Governors.
Ensuring stability and continuity
As Academic Dean, Diane has demonstrated that she supports and fosters bold educational initiatives and has the success of students at heart. Her appointment will ensure stability and continuity at ÆßÐDzʿª½± during a time of great challenges and changes.
Diane’s considerable experience and successful endeavours at ÆßÐDzʿª½± made her the top choice. Her deep commitment to the core mission and values of ÆßÐDzʿª½± is clear.
ÆßÐDzʿª½±ite since 1998
Diane came to ÆßÐDzʿª½± 23 years ago not long after completing an MBA in Strategic Management and International Business at McGill University. She has held a variety of roles with incremental responsibilities. In 1998, she was hired as a Business Administration teacher. Later she served as Chair of the Department and Program Coordinator of the Business programs and then Dean of Social Science and Business Technologies. Since 2014, Diane has served as the Academic Dean overseeing all aspects of academic life.
Second female DG
Diane will succeed Richard Filion, who is retiring after 16 years as Director General at the end of December. Diane will be the eighth Director General of ÆßÐDzʿª½± and the second woman to hold this position.
