Alexander (Alex) D’Alesio is a third-year ÆßÐDzʿª½± student in Electrical Engineering Technology who is competing as a singer in Quebec’s version of America’s Got Talent, Quel Talent. The filming was done in the summer but the final on Monday, Nov. 11 will be live.

Alex shared his experience with the Communications Office:

“Quel Talent! is Quebec’s own version of America’s Got Talent, produced by the same team. It’s not just about singing, the show showcases diverse acts like comedians, dancers, musicians, and even animal performers—all local talent, which is a big focus of the show. You can catch it every week on Noovo from Monday to Thursday at 7:30 PM. If you miss an episode, you can rewatch it for free on their website, , or see the highlights on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram.

“I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember, with my first audience performance at 3 years old. Music has always been my passion, alongside technology, which is why I chose my field of study! I started in choirs, where I learned group singing and harmonizing with others, and then moved to solo performances and competitions. When I began competing, I started getting vocal coaching, and that’s how I connected with Kevin Bazinet, who won La Voix 3 here in Quebec. We’ve been working together for nearly eight years now. Kevin has a recording studio where he teaches voice, piano, and guitar (Bazinet Studio), and earlier this year, he came to me with the idea of forming a singing group for Quel Talent!.

“We formed Harmonix – a five-person group with Kevin and four of his students, including me. I had known one of the other girls, Anissa, from high school and a few singing events, but we really clicked as a group when we came together for the first time and met each other. Kevin’s talent in arranging our songs, combined with the girls’ amazing voices, made us a solid team right from the start. We sent in our application about a week after forming the group, fueled purely by our shared love for music. Making it this far has been a dream come true for all of us – we couldn’t be happier and more grateful for how things have turned out!â€
