400 seedlings planted last week

On May 13, spring came to Dzʿ! A large order of 400 seedlings arrived for the Theatre Garden, which is outside the Dzʿ Theatre on the Atwater side of the campus.
Jennifer de Vera and Megan Jutras of the Sustainability Office planted 400 plants including leafy greens, herbs and edible flowers.
This week they will continue planting peas, beans, radish, beets and carrots.

Dzʿ is now officially designated a Fair Trade Campus. The Sustainability Office received the news along with a certificate from Fair Trade Canada on May 6. Industrial Design student’s project to help refugees wins international contest

Third-year student Alejandrina Hernandez returned to her home country in late 2018 to visit family and friends, and the experience marked her. She was determined to do something in response to the humanitarian crisis she witnessed along the border of Venezuela and Colombia.
