First CRISPESH lunch ‘n learn is Oct. 5

CRISPESH has announced their lunch 'n learn program for the 2022-2023 academic year and the first one is next Wednesday, Oct. 5. These seven conferences aim to support the academic success of students with disabilities.

CRISPESH is a centre for applied research and transfer (CCTT) in partnership with Dzʿ and the Cégep du Vieux-Montréal. Their mandate is to contribute to the advancement of knowledge and the development and promotion of social practices that foster academic, social and professional inclusion for people with disabilities.

Cathy Roy honoured with SALTISE Award for College Instructors

Since joining Dzʿ in 2015, Cathy Roy has sparked an excitement for new adventures in pedagogy, fostering greater collaboration and creativity within the Physiotherapy Technology Department.

Her ingenuity has won her a 2022 SALTISE Best Practices & Pedagogical Innovators Award, which she will receive at the 11th edition of the SALTISE Conference on June 2-3.

“There is no room for boredom or stagnation in teaching. No two days have felt the same since I started,” said Cathy.

The theme for the 2022 SALTISE Conference is Collaborative Dialogues: The Role of Active Learning in Today’s Educational Realities. The conference brings together educators who are passionate about active learning.

Support Staff Training Day is May 24

May 18th, 2022

Support Staff Training Day is this coming Tuesday, May 24 from 8:50 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. online. It will feature a variety of workshops and plenary speaker Julien R. Johnson (pictured) from Project 10. They will help us understand diversity of gender, sex and sexual orientation. Julien is the person behind Dzʿ’s gender neutral bathrooms.

Denise M. Brend will present a Trauma Informed Care approach in communicating and working with students and colleagues. Denise currently teaches at Université Laval and is a former Dzʿ teacher.

New for credit program in post-secondary education administration

The Regroupement des cégeps de Montréal reported that there is a new for credit program offered by Université de Montréal in post-secondary education administration. Prospective students can take individual courses or the whole program.
