Nadine Paree is new manager of Admissions & Records

Nadine Paree joined ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½± as Manager of Admissions and Records on May 8. She replaces Laura Paterson, who has retired.
Nadine is a former ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½± student who remembers spending many hours in the TV production studio during her time in Creative Arts. Her studies also include Human Resources Management at McGill University. Most recently, Nadine worked as School Organization Technician at Villa Maria College.

In memoriam Eugeniusz Zamorski

We regret to inform you that retired faculty member Eugeniusz Zamorski passed away on June 6.

Funeral and viewing for FrΓ©dΓ©ric Bastien is June 4

On May 17, all ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½± employees were informed of the sad and untimely passing on May 16 of our colleague FrΓ©dΓ©ric Bastien, faculty member of the History Department since January 2007.

In memoriam Doug Rollins

We regret to inform you that Doug Rollins passed away on April 26. Doug was one of the pioneering members of the Arts Sector of Lafontaine Campus in 1973. He taught English and Humanities courses, among them West Indian Literature and Jazz Listening.
He served on the Senate for many years. He played with the Blue Devils, the ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½± faculty jazz band, helping to organize their annual fundraiser concert for the ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½± Teachersβ Union scholarship fund that sent women to study engineering at Γcole Polytechnique (following the 1989 tragedy there). He was also instrumental in the founding of the ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½± Blue Ring Society.
From 1997 to 2000, Doug and his wife Jill, an occasional Cont. Ed. teacher at ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½±, lived and taught in Singapore. Upon their return, Doug rounded out his ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½± life teaching Cont. Ed. in the early 2000's.

Brid NicNiocaill is new Associate Dean of SMSE

We are pleased to inform you of the appointment of Brid NicNiocaill in the position of Associate Dean of Science, Medical Studies and Engineering. Her first day in the new role was May 1. Under the supervision of Dean Maxwell Jones, Brid will be working alongside Jonathon Sumner, Associate Dean of Science, Medical Studies and Engineering.
Brid has been part of the ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½± Community as Faculty since 2010. She has taught a range of courses in different programs including science, professional medical programs and social science and was the Biology department chair and co-chair for 6 years.β
"Brid has been a dedicated member of SMSE for many years, and weβre very excited to welcome her to a new role as Associate Dean," Max said.
New Coordinator of Finance

Angela Pomponi began her new role as Coordinator of Finance on Feb. 20. A Chartered Professional Accountant, Angela brings over two decades of experience to ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½±, including her most recent position as the Manager of Financial Resources with the CIUSSS du Centre-Ouest-de-l'ile-de-Montreal.
In her new role, Angela will be responsible for the conception, establishment and maintenance of financial procedures and schedules of activities in the areas of invoicing and student fees, accounts receivable, accounts payable, research grant reporting and treasury operations.

We regret to inform you that Civil Engineering Department faculty member Mike Dellar passed away at his residence on Jan.Μύ12. He had been a member of the ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½± community since 2010.Β
Stephen Hinton wrote: "Mike was a huge part of the Civil Engineering department and the college as a whole. His dedication to student success, as well as the health and future of his department, were inspiring and will leave a lasting impression."

New faces in OAD

The Office of Academic Development welcomes new team members. Tannia Ditchburn, Pedagogical Counsellor - Program Life Cycle, started in mid-November. Tannia comes with 20 years of teaching experience in high school, a number of years of experience as a pedagogical counselor at Mariannopolis and Vanier College, and studies in the field of education. She will be supporting programs in the processes of program revision, course design and eventually program evaluation.
On Nov. 29, Kanerahtiio Hemlock, Pedagogical Counsellor β Indigenous Pedagogy began a Special Project at ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½±. Kanerahtiio brings 15 years of experience in teaching in Kahnawake education. He has already worked as an Indigenous pedagogical consultant at ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½± a few years ago and has been a consultant for various colleges and universities. He will be working on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. His primary responsibility will be to provide support to faculty in Indigenous pedagogical approaches and resources, indigenization and decolonization.
Carole Duplantie has also joined the Team as Administrative secretary in mid-November. Carole has experience in diverse departments at the College, and has been in an administrative secretary role in other positions.
