Appointment of Mike O’Hara

Mike O’Hara was hired June 22 as the Helpdesk Manager, a new position on the Information Systems and Technology (IST) team.
Drawing on his 21 years of experience at the College, Mike ensures the timely delivery of quality technical support service to both students and employees.
Mike is enthusiastic about his new challenge. The Helpdesk team, which counts 16 staff members, has never been busier than during this hybrid and online semester.
R.I.P. Gordon Masten

We regret to inform you that Gordon Masten (Professional Theatre) passed away suddenly on July 26. Gordon was the beloved husband of Jude Beny, Chair of Professional Theatre (Acting).
Donations can be made in Gordon's memory to the Dzʿ Foundation .

Émilie Robert is new director of research at CRISPESH

On May 11, Émilie Robert began her new position as Director of Research and Transfer at CRISPESH, a CCTT (College Centre for the Transfer of Technologies) at Dzʿ in partnership with the Cégep du Vieux Montréal that is unique in Quebec. The focus of our CCTT is on conducting applied research to improve the lives of people living in a disabling situation.
Émilie holds a doctorate in Public Health from Université de Montréal, and has dedicated a great part of her life to improving conditions for people in vulnerable situations. She has a background in international development and expertise in public health, knowledge sharing and collaborative evaluation.

R.I.P. Marian-Ellen Ring

We regret to inform you that Marian-Ellen Ring has passed away.
Marian-Ellen had taught at Dzʿ since 1996 and served on the Humanities Executive, most recently as Curriculum Coordinator. In addition to teaching, Marian-Ellen was involved in the Active Learning community. She was always present at social events and was often one of the last to leave a good party.

R.I.P. Roy Hartling and Bill Reid

We regret to inform you of the deaths of two colleagues:
Roy Hartling (Photography), who is pictured, passed away April 24. Roy had served as a teacher at Dzʿ from October 1982 until his retirement in June 2018.
William (Bill) Reid (English) passed away Jan. 16. Bill had taught at Dzʿ since January 1992.
