Support Staff Training Day is May 24

May 18th, 2022

Support Staff Training Day is this coming Tuesday, May 24 from 8:50 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. online. It will feature a variety of workshops and plenary speaker Julien R. Johnson (pictured) from Project 10. They will help us understand diversity of gender, sex and sexual orientation. Julien is the person behind ÆßÐDzʿª½±â€™s gender neutral bathrooms.

Denise M. Brend will present a Trauma Informed Care approach in communicating and working with students and colleagues. Denise currently teaches at Université Laval and is a former ÆßÐDzʿª½± teacher.

New Coordinator of Student Services

We are thrilled to welcome Caroline Blouin as the new Coordinator of Student Services. She has worked for many years at different post-secondary institutions, particularly in Ontario, in services that supported students and their academic success. We are confident that our students and staff will benefit from her experience and knowledge of college-aged students and that she will prove to be a great asset for our team and for the College.


New Faculty Orientation March 14

March 9th, 2022

ÆßÐDzʿª½±â€™s New Faculty Orientation will take place Monday, March 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. It is designed to introduce new faculty to information about college services and procedures, teaching at the college level, and tips for engaging students.

The orientation includes asynchronous and synchronous components:
·    Welcome from the Deans and Directors of ÆßÐDzʿª½±
·    Competency based education and the program approach
·    Academic integrity at ÆßÐDzʿª½±
·    Faculty deadlines
·    Faculty roles and responsibilities
·    Classroom scenarios and discussion
·    Professional development opportunities

This event is open to all new Day and Continuing Education faculty with Winter 2022 workload.

New insurance rates effective Jan. 20

Please note that the College has received new group insurance rates from SSQ and La Capitale for 2022.  These new rates will come into effect on the pay of Jan. 20, 2022.

I would like to remind everyone with coverage that all pertinent information (rates, information brochures, etc.) can be found on ÆßÐDzʿª½±â€™s website under the Employee Insurance and Benefit tab: /human-resources/employee-insurance-and-benefits/

Choose among the employment categories available and then scroll down for the rates.

Kindly take a moment to review the various benefit deductions on your Jan. 20 pay (please keep in mind that the listed premium rates from La Capitale and SSQ do not include the mandatory 9% sales tax). Resources from Intercollegiate Ped Days 2022

January 19th, 2022

Thanks to ÆßÐDzʿª½± colleagues who contributed to the success of Intercollegiate Ped Days  2022, which took place Jan. 12-14 online. More than 50 presentations were given and over 700 participants from the English-language CEGEPs attended. The theme was Systemic Transformation: Developing Our Inclusive Practices. Resources will be available for a limited time on the Linkr site: . The Linkr site is free but you need to request to join using your college email account. A selection of resources will also be featured on ÆßÐDzʿª½±â€™s Faculty Hub site.


160 employees getting their flu shot courtesy of ÆßÐDzʿª½±

December 1st, 2021

ÆßÐDzʿª½±'s Human Resources team organized a free flu vaccine at ÆßÐDzʿª½± this year for employees. Initially, they booked three vaccine clinic days but the spots filled up quick so they added a fourth day. A total of 160 ÆßÐDzʿª½± employees have appointments on campus for flu vaccines on Nov. 29, Nov. 30, Dec. 1 and Dec. 2. It is recommended that all Canadians over 6 months old receive a flu vaccine this year.
