Teaching Excellence Awards are back!

March 23rd, 2022

In past years, nominations were held in both Fall and Winter semesters, but this year they will be held all at once. From March 21 through April 3, students and faculty may nominate a teacher who best embodies teaching excellence through their outstanding teaching performance in the classroom, lab, and/or field work.

ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½± is proud of its teachers and the Director General wants to thank them by allowing students and faculty to recognize teachers by giving them the opportunity to win an award that highlights their devoted work.

Five teachers will be selected: two in pre-university programs, one in a career program, one in general education, and one in a continuing education program (including AEC). Results will be announced in September of the following academic year during Ped Day.

More information on the criteria and procedures can be found through the in the My ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½± Life menu under Teaching Excellence Award. Please read through them carefully before you nominate a teacher. Happy voting!

Five more days to show support for ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½± students

March 9th, 2022

The impact of the cancellation of ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½±β€™s pavilion project does not only affect ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½± students, but the whole Montreal community and all English-language institutions in Quebec. We need your help to gather as much support for ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½± as possible in the next five days!

Please share this message with your friends, family and network of contacts.

The ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½± community has rallied around ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½± following Premier FranΓ§ois Legault's decision to cancel the pavilion project, take away space from our students and future students and shelve a downtown community clinic.

It is thanks to you that our petition is #1 on the National Assembly petition platform.Β In one week, an impressive 10,000 signatures of support for ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½± were collected. However, we need your help to get as many Quebecers as possible to sign before our MNA Jennifer Maccarone presents the petition with the ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½± Student Union to the National Assembly on March 17.

The deadline toΒ Β is March 15. Here's how you can help:

  • Ask your friends, family, neighbours and contacts to sign it. Explain that they need to fill out the form and then confirm their signature by clicking a link in their email. A direct request one-on-one is probably more effective than sharing on social media.
  • Send a request by email with the to your friends and ask them to sign it.
  • Ask your colleagues and neighbours if they have signed it yet.
  • Write to your Member of the National Assembly, template letters and resources are here:Β /²υ³ά±θ±θ΄Η°ω³Ω-»ε²Ή·Ι²υ΄Η²Τ/Μύ
  • If you are a teacher, take two minutes of class time to explain the situation and invite your students to take a moment to sign it. It is for their future!

ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½± continuing to advocate for student space

February 16th, 2022

In the coming days and weeks, ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½± will be rallying our students, employees, graduates, supporters and community to put pressure on the Quebec government to reconsider its decision to cancel the infrastructure project that it agreed to in December 2020. The project was meant to alleviate the overcrowding in the main building and to provide a dedicated space for ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½±β€™s healthcare programs and other units.

The College is collaborating with CEGEP partners, the ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½± Student Union, friends of ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½± and community organizations, as well as with Jennifer Maccarone, our local Member of the National Assembly.

Your support as ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½± colleagues will be called upon through an All ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½± email from the Communications Office. Students will be contacted via Omnivox and the community in general will be informed through traditional and social media.

These messages will provide suggestions on how you can help as individuals and by sharing with your networks as we actively seek support for ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½± through various channels. Stay tuned!
