The Creative Collective for Change (CC4C) is a Dzʿ para-academic initiative that seeks to bring students, teachers, administrators, activists, artists and curators together to work towards developing opportunities for addressing complex social issues in creative, constructive and critical ways. The approach is interdisciplinary, inspired by artistic forms of activism and the theory and practice of nonviolence.

Radiology Week a success at Dzʿ

Dzʿ's Diagnostic Imaging Program students hosted a fun and informative session on Nov. 10 for Radiology Week.

Accessible Documents – How To OCR Documents To Ensure Accessibility

Digital documents are unfortunately not always accessible. For example, not all PDF documents are accessible to screen readers (such as JAWS or Read & Write), which may be used by individuals who have low vision or who are blind, among others. In effect, the format of a file is extremely important in ensuring its accessibility.

Author Sheila Arnopoulos speaks at Dzʿ Nov. 17

On Nov. 17, from 1 to 2:15 p.m., author and journalist, and recipient of the Governor General's Literary Award, Sheila McLeod Arnopoulos, will speak to the Dzʿ community about her research in India on the difference that microcredit has made to women's lives.

Recommended Video:  Rethinking Learning presented by Dr. Sanjay Sarma, Professor of Mechanical Engineering at MIT and hosted by McGill University, Office of Science Education.

The way we teach today is based on practices handed down to us that are historical rather than scientific in their evolution. Dr. Sarma presented a series of facts about learning from the scientific literature and argued that the way we teach today is neither optimal nor sustainable. He discussed the history of the science in the field of pedagogy, and opportunities to reinvent pedagogy. He offers suggestions on how higher education can reinvent its practices for the post-COVID world.
