Indigenous students reflect on their work exhibited at ÆßÐDzʿª½±â€™s gallery

Indigenous students at ÆßÐDzʿª½± celebrated a year of land-based learning at a vernissage of their artwork and projects on May 10 at the Warren G. Flowers Art Gallery.

The work was created in the Learning Perspectives course of the Journeys program co-taught by Amanda Lickers and Jocelyn Parr over the last academic year of 2023-2024.

Student Zye Rashontiiostha Mayo said there were two goals for the exhibit: “sharing our artwork and sharing our voices.â€

The Independent Video Game Design program is proud to host its annual vernissage event, showcasing games created by our 2024 graduating class and the local independent game development community! Discover the projects that our teams of graduates have created, learning to design, illustrate, model and program every element with the guidance of our faculty of industry veterans. The IVGD program is also happy to welcome local independent game developers to join us in celebrating our creative industry and making new connections within our community.

Please join us Wednesday, June 12 from 6 PM-10 PM in room 3C.1 for our open vernissage and playtesting event, featuring over 15+ playable games. Snacks and non-alcoholic beverages included.

Meet ÆßÐDzʿª½±â€™s 2024 recipient of the Lieutenant Governor’s Youth Medal

Nominated by Student Services staff Sandra Gravel and Trudy Ste. Croix, ÆßÐDzʿª½± student Kiera Robak received the Lieutenant Governor’s Youth Medal at a ceremony on April 20.

The commendation recognizes sustained volunteer involvement or an inspiring and determined attitude with a positive influence on society.
