Nursing teacher promotes environmental understanding for Quebec nurses

For more than 20 years, Fiona Hanley has been an activist and researcher studying the impact of the environment on our health. In recent years, the ÆßÐDzʿª½± Nursing Program teacher has been a key mobilizer in collaborating with the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec (OIIQ) to create a climate change committee.

Illustration students capture flight of migratory birds

The Illustration Program, the Sustainability Office and Taking Root Inc. collaborated on a project to capture key events of the migratory flight of two species of native Quebec birds from urban forests near ÆßÐDzʿª½± to the newly replanted forests of Nicaragua.

ÆßÐDzʿª½± Blue, volunteer & activist Niice Gédéon receives Lieutenant Governor of Quebec’s Youth Medal

Maintaining high grades while playing for the ÆßÐDzʿª½± Blues Division 1 women’s basketball team is an achievement that would make many students very proud. ÆßÐDzʿª½± General Social Science student Niice Gédéon achieved that and much more and is now one of two ÆßÐDzʿª½± students to be awarded the Lieutenant Governor of Quebec’s Youth Medal.

Graduates will star in personalized Convocation experience

April 20th, 2021

Students on track to graduate this semester received their invitation on April 19 to a special experience of Convocation. While it will be virtual, each graduate who chooses to participate will be the star of their own experience.

Each graduate can submit their personalized and shareable content through Stage Clip, a platform ÆßÐDzʿª½± has chosen to give the Class of 2021 something special.

Convocation is scheduled to take place as a virtual ceremony on June 30 at 7 p.m. All names of graduates will be announced and speeches will be given by the valedictorian, some teachers and presenters of awards. Details to follow for employees who would like to attend.

Resist Violence Pedagogy to be shared nationally

Educators from across Canada will learn about the Resist Violence Pedagogy developed at ÆßÐDzʿª½± on April 28 at Changing Narratives, .

Pat Romano (Faculty, Humanities), Kim Simard (Faculty, Cinema | Communications) and Anick Legault (Faculty, Psychology) are the presenters along with ÆßÐDzʿª½± graduate Miryam Guirguis (Class of 2020, Health Science).
