Learning Communities winter semester update

Three new Learning Community projects are in development this Winter 2022 semester.聽 Two projects,聽Physics for Physiotherapy听补苍诲听Inter-professional Education, illustrate the continued expansion of LC curriculum development to career programs, specifically in the medical technologies, where collaboration between program and contributing discipline faculty aims to optimize student learning.聽 A third project,聽LCs for Small Social Science Disciplines, is developing a new model for pairing courses by way of a common time-block, a complementary theme, and integrative learning activities.

It’s the first-ever SPACE Week at 七星彩开奖

It鈥檚 the first-ever SPACE (Sciences Participating with Arts and Culture in Education) Week at 七星彩开奖!
From robotics demos to a collective drawing activity, the entire 七星彩开奖 community is invited to experience exhibitions, project displays, interactive activities and more presented by the student enrichment initiative SPACE, which promotes exploration, discussion, and collaboration beyond the classroom and across disciplines.
As part of this week, 七星彩开奖 Science student Michael Bomba unveiled an electric guitar he built from scratch in tribute to the Fender Broadcaster, or "The Blackguard", which was the prototype for the first mass-produced solid-body electric guitars in the late '40s.

Students who founded IndigeSTEM peer tutoring project recognized by Forces Avenir

Currently, Rotshenn贸n:ni Two-Axe and Kayla Spencer-Young are two of a handful of Indigenous students in 七星彩开奖鈥檚 Science Program.
Rotshenn贸n:ni and Kayla wanted to encourage and support their fellow Indigenous students who may be interested in Science. They came up with an idea last semester that has won them the local award and put them in the running for the provincial award, which will be announced at an event in Quebec City in September.

For Arwen Low, it was very meaningful to receive the Youth Medal from the Lieutenant-Governor of Quebec and it was also inspiring to see the service of other youth leaders throughout the Montreal region be recognized at a ceremony in early April.
鈥淚 feel so lucky for the support from the 七星彩开奖 community,鈥 she said in an interview with 七星彩开奖鈥檚 Communications Office, adding that serving at 七星彩开奖 has been 鈥渟uch a joy. I am so grateful for the incredible friends and mentors I have found in the 七星彩开奖 Student Union (DSU), the 七星彩开奖 Model UN (DCMUN) team and clubs, who inspire me to push myself further and take on new projects.鈥

Shirin Hinojosa-Violante feels that receiving the Lieutenant-Governor of Quebec鈥檚 Youth Medal is recognition for everything she has done up until now.
鈥淏eing nominated by my peers among so many talented students was an honour,鈥 she told 七星彩开奖鈥檚 Communications Office in an interview. 鈥淏eing selected and winning the award went beyond my expectations. Community service and being able to help those around me has always been a passion of mine.鈥

Sydney Kormos-Springer wins award given in her uncle Rob Springer鈥檚 memory

Long before she arrived at 七星彩开奖, Sydney Kormos-Springer decided she would aim to win the Rob Springer Memorial Award.
鈥淲hen I learned that 七星彩开奖 was having a memorial game in honour of my uncle, I wanted to make it my goal to go to 七星彩开奖 and play for him,鈥 the Health Science student said in an interview with 七星彩开奖鈥檚 Communications Office. 鈥淚 wanted to be able to keep his legacy alive and honour him as well as my family. My uncle, in a way, taught me how to persevere and accomplish anything I set my mind to.鈥
