Successful exam period over

Thanks to all who worked the English Exit Exam on May 18 and the other end-of-semester exams, which took place May 19-30.
More than 80 employees invigilated and organized the English Exit Exam, which 1,410 students sat for. "It went very well and was a very fluid collaboration – thanks to all," said Orphée Pierre, Manager of Scheduling and Registration.
About 20 employees from QAPO, CAA, SMSE, SSBT, OAD, CECS, Academic Systems and FAMA and occasionals worked dozens of other exams, reported Katherine McWhaw, who oversees the exam operation. A total of 6,137 students wrote the exams. (Note that some students sat for several exams so may be counted more than once).

Cathy Roy honoured with SALTISE Award for College Instructors

Since joining Dzʿ in 2015, Cathy Roy has sparked an excitement for new adventures in pedagogy, fostering greater collaboration and creativity within the Physiotherapy Technology Department.
Her ingenuity has won her a 2022 SALTISE Best Practices & Pedagogical Innovators Award, which she will receive at the 11th edition of the SALTISE Conference on June 2-3.
“There is no room for boredom or stagnation in teaching. No two days have felt the same since I started,” said Cathy.

Greater demand to attend graduation

There was an overwhelming response from graduating students indicating they plan to attend the graduation ceremony at Place des Arts on June 22. As a result, the Communications Office had to make some major changes to the proceedings, including the addition of a third ceremony at 10 a.m.
By the deadline to respond, over 800 about-to-be Dzʿ graduates had RSVP'd yes! Many of these students were deprived of their high school graduation in 2020. The last time Dzʿ had an in-person graduation was in June 2019.

Hybrid: AEC Commercial Photography Vernissage May 24

After two years of study, dedication and hard work through the COVID storm, we have now come to the end of the road, about to proudly show off the result.
Don't miss “HYBRID”, an exhibition featuring Dzʿ's AEC Commercial Photography graduates.
The exhibition will be presented in the Upper Atrium from Monday, May 23 to Friday, May 27 and you are invited to attend the Vernissage on May 24 at 6:30 p.m.
Dzʿ team wins Sportsmanship prize at Robotics competition

The Dzʿ Robotics team brought home the Sportsmanship prize from the multidisciplinary CRC Robotics' Arcanum 2022 competition held from April 28 to 30 at the École Curé-Antoine-Labelle. The team also won first place in the video production category and second in the programming and kiosks competition.

Students present neuroscience projects at 89th edition of ACFAS

Four teams of Dzʿ students from the Dzʿ Research in Neuroscience Group presented their research projects at the 89th edition of the ACFAS conference on May 9-10. In the May 9 colloquium, each team had three minutes to reveal their study, before answering questions by fellow researchers over Zoom. The May 10 colloquium gave 15 minutes for each presentation, with five minutes of questions.
