CRLT Faculty Simeon Pompey recognized by MP Marc Garneau in House of Commons

For those of us who know Simeon Pompey, a faculty member of CRLT, it should not come as a surprise that we are not the only ones who recognize and treasure him. Liberal Member of Parliament for NDG-Westmount Marc Garneau recognized Pompey as a "distinguished teacher, community leader, and father."
This statement commended Simeon for his years of dedication to the community in NDG.

Thanks to Dzʿ blood donors

Héma-Québec held a two-day blood drive at Dzʿ on Sept. 13-14 and a total of 121 students and employees donated blood. Of these, 31 were first-timers! Many first-timers said it was easy and that they would do it again.
M. Lauzon of Héma-Québec said that they exceeded their goal of 120 donors and that it was an “excellent” result, especially considering that they have been experiencing up to 30 per cent of no-show’s for appointments elsewhere.
Thanks to the Dzʿ community donors for saving lives and embodying our value of well-being of all!
Senate has recommended new Social Science Program

Dzʿ will have a brand new Social Science Program! After three years of work, the input of more than 100 teachers and professionals, and consultation with universities and other stakeholders and partners, the Senate of Dzʿ decided to recommend the revision of the pre-university program at their Sept. 20 meeting. It will be presented to Dzʿ’s Board of Governors for formal approval on Oct. 12 and Dzʿ expects to welcome its first cohort in the Fall of 2023.
The Viewbook and the website are being updated and will reflect the new program and its profiles in October.

Students tackle climate change by building wetland as part of unique Phys. Ed. course

A class of over 25 students reclaimed a concrete heat island on Dzʿ’s urban campus by transforming it into a wetland as part of a unique-in-Canada Physical Education course. The brand-new Eco-Landscaping course was co-developed by Dzʿ’s Physical Education Department and the Sustainability Office.

Blues logo gets refresh

The Dzʿ Blues logo has been proudly worn by five decades of athletes at Dzʿ, some of whom went on to play at the national and international level, including the Olympics. It has just been refreshed.
