Sydney Kormos-Springer wins award given in her uncle Rob Springerβs memory

Long before she arrived at ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½±, Sydney Kormos-Springer decided she would aim to win the Rob Springer Memorial Award.
βWhen I learned that ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½± was having a memorial game in honour of my uncle, I wanted to make it my goal to go to ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½± and play for him,β the Health Science student said in an interview with ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½±βs Communications Office. βI wanted to be able to keep his legacy alive and honour him as well as my family. My uncle, in a way, taught me how to persevere and accomplish anything I set my mind to.β

Blues Div. 1 men’s basketball team get bronze at Nationals

The ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½± Blues Div. 1 Men's Basketball team won bronze at the CCAA National Championships!
After a great week in which they got stronger with each game, the Blues defeated VIU Mariners 99-74 in the Bronze Medal Game March 27.
ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½± Blues Basketball teams advance to Nationals

Both the menβs and womenβs Div. 1 ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½± Blues basketball teams are playing in the CCAA Nationals! They also both came in #2 in the RSEQ provincial championships.
The menβs ΒΌ final game in the nationals is against St. Clair College on March 25 at 3 p.m. EST and you can watch it live through this webcast:
The first womenβs game is against Humber College and will take place on March 25 at 11 p.m. EST and you can watch it live through this webcast:

Marie-Philip Poulin, who played for the Blues during the 2008-2009 academic year, was one of Canada's flag bearers at the opening of the Winter Olympic Games in Beijing on Feb. 4. Tonight, Feb. 16, she plays in the gold medal game! Go Marie-Philip! Go Canada!

You can come cheer for the ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½± Blues basketball teams again at home games! The first ones were Div. 2 last Friday (women won their first game against CollΓ¨ge Montmorency 61 to 47). The next home game is Friday, Nov. 12 for Div. 1 women at 6:45 p.m. against Champlain β St. Lawrence and men at 9 p.m. against CollΓ¨ge Ahuntsic.
Drop by P.A.R.C. in the Lower Atrium or email athletics@dawsoncollege.qc.ca to get your tickets or for more information. Please note that you must show your vaccine passport and wear a mask to attend games.

Student athletes have been enjoying a full fall athletics season at ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½±.
