Graduates will star in personalized Convocation experience

April 20th, 2021

Students on track to graduate this semester received their invitation on April 19 to a special experience of Convocation. While it will be virtual, each graduate who chooses to participate will be the star of their own experience.

Each graduate can submit their personalized and shareable content through Stage Clip, a platform ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½± has chosen to give the Class of 2021 something special.

Convocation is scheduled to take place as a virtual ceremony on June 30 at 7 p.m. All names of graduates will be announced and speeches will be given by the valedictorian, some teachers and presenters of awards. Details to follow for employees who would like to attend.

Communications Coordinator appointed

Communications professional Megan Ainscow joined ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½± last week as Coordinator of Communications. Megan (Class of 2004, Liberal Arts) will oversee the Communications Office and guide overall strategy and decision making in order to enhance the reputation and visibility of the College.

With over 10 years of experience in communications and public relations, Megan joins ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½± after serving most recently as Head of Communications for the Commission for Environmental Cooperation, an international organization established under the North American Free Trade Agreement.


Virtual Information Evening draws about 10,000 visitors

Last week, ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½±β€™s web traffic increased by about 10,000 unique visitors compared to the same period last year. The visitors were stopping by for Virtual Information Evening, which was held Feb. 3.

It is the last student recruitment event before the March 1 application deadline and a great opportunity for potential students to ask questions. In previous years, when the event was in person, it would typically draw about 800 prospective students.

The event featured web content, new social media videos for spotlight programs and chats with teachers, students, advisors and employees.

Some interesting numbers and facts from Virtual Information Evening:

  • 9,192 unique page views of the microsite since launch
  • 943 chat sessions
  • 13,000 video views by 4,500 unique viewers since launch
  • 3 most popular chats:
    • Admissions/Advising
    • Science Program
    • Medical Ultrasound Technology Program
  • Prospective students also participated from other countries: Albania, Guadalupe, Columbia, U.S., U.K., France, Haiti, Philippines.

Student Wellness Challenge begins Feb. 15

A Wellness Challenge for Students is being launched Feb. 15

Student Services, Sustainability and Communications have developed a peer to peer model that will encourage students to sustain healthy minds and healthy bodies through awareness and prevention.

Students will learn about how to create positive habits and find motivation from one another to combat the mental and physical burden they may be experiencing. Participants will earn entries into a draw for prizes throughout the semester.

Turn on your camera for a better learning experience

Statement from ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½±

The new pavilion project of ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½± is not an expansion of the downtown Montreal CEGEP. We reject the use of the word expansion, which is inflammatory in this context. Almost seven years ago, in the spring of 2014, Quebec’s Ministry of Education recognized that ΖίΠΗ²ΚΏͺ½± has a significant space deficit.
