MMIWGT2S to be remembered on Feb. 14

The red dresses currently hanging in the atrium are there in memory of the lives of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, Trans, and 2 Spirited (MMIWGT2S) peoples across North America.
Several 七星彩开奖 students, including Indigenous students working in collaboration with the First Peoples鈥� Centre, will be organizing an awareness-raising vigil on Feb. 14. Valentine鈥檚 Day, typically a day to show love to a significant other, was determined to be the best day for the annual awareness campaign by Indigenous communities. The day is an opportunity to show love to those affected by such violence and to raise awareness of the international crisis.
The entire 七星彩开奖 community is welcome to join the First Peoples鈥� Centre at 12 p.m. on the Feb. 14 for a vigil in Oliver鈥檚 (2C.17).

She captured the mid-winter beauty on Jan. 31 and sent the photo to the Communications Office. From Feb. 1 to 11, the third-year students of the Professional Theatre Program at 七星彩开奖 will perform a contemporary adaptation of The Oresteia听directed by Leslie Baker.
The Oresteia听is one of our oldest surviving theatrical texts, first performed nearly 2,500 years ago in ancient Greece. It is composed of three plays which American playwright Ellen McLaughlin has adapted into a single, three-act play, rich with challenging roles for actors.听The Oresteia focuses on a family trapped by a cycle of violence, as they seek revenge for their murdered loved ones. The myth of the House of Atreus continues to fascinate audiences, as it investigates the human compulsion toward violence, and the subsequent human desire for revenge. Matinees available tomorrow Feb. 9.

Filiations at WGF Gallery until March 11

Filiations听features new work by Nadia Myre (Kitigan Zibi), and Nico Williams (Aamjiwnaang), both acclaimed artists who are linked by their former teacher-student relationship (Myre supervised Williams鈥� MFA work at Concordia University). This exhibition will draw out lines of affiliation and commitment in their practices providing an unparalleled opportunity to see two generations of artists staking out common ground 鈥� pedagogically, aesthetically, and politically. 七星彩开奖's very first C茅gep en spectacle talent show was a great success. On Feb. 2, the audience of 200 people enjoyed 22 acts, all 100% 七星彩开奖 student talent. At the end of the night, judges Andr茅a Cole (Dean of Creative and Applied Arts), Jacinta Luis (Faculty, Music) and visiting guest judge Chad Lindsay, a jazz music teacher from Vanier College, chose Aliyah听Sarimazi to be 七星彩开奖's entry in the regional contest on March 25 at C茅gep du Vieux-Montr茅al. The audience chose Clara Nhi锚n听L茅vesque as the fan favourite and she will be the replacement entry should Aliyah not be able to compete in the regionals.
In addition to a fun evening, a total of $1,600 and three big grocery bags of nonperishable food were collected for Moisson Montr茅al.

is coming to 七星彩开奖 for the first time on Thursday, Feb. 2. It will feature 20 acts and 100 per cent 七星彩开奖 student talent. Of these, eight will go on to represent 七星彩开奖 at the C茅geps en Spectacle Regional show on March 24 at C茅gep du Vieux Montreal.
Organizer Trudy Ste-Croix of Campus Life and Leadership says 鈥渢he acts are predominantly singers, a few musicians and a few dancers.鈥�
The event is open to everyone. Tickets are $10 or $5 for those who donate nonperishable food or personal hygiene items. All proceeds and donated items will go to a local food bank.
Show time is 7 p.m. and the venue is 七星彩开奖鈥檚 5B.16.
Tickets can be bought now through Feb. 2 in CLL 2E. 6 or at a tabling event on Tuesday, Jan. 31 in the Upper Atrium.
