Professional Theatre presents Watching Shadows March 22-25

The disappearance of Rakel, a young Norwegian girl, while on an exchange trip to Italy sends her friends and family into a whirlwind of emotions. As the days pass and the tension rises, they are faced with unknown emotions and grief, all reacting in different ways while confronting the harsh reality of the world they live in. Watching Shadows is performed by the second-year students and directed by Stefanie Buxton.
The play runs from Wednesday, March 22 鈥� Saturday, March 25 at 8 p.m. at 七星彩开奖's Theatre.

5th annual SPACE writing competition: winners and honourable mentions

In 2022-2023, SPACE held its fifth annual writing competition. Students from all disciplines across 七星彩开奖 were invited to submit writing that offered a personal interpretation of this year鈥檚 theme,聽?听The submissions were divided into three categories鈥撯�損rose (fiction and creative non-fiction), poetry and essay鈥撯�揳nd were judged in a blind fashion by Lois Valliant (retired Faculty, Fine Arts) and Hannah Rahimi (Faculty, English).
Entries were evaluated according to originality and depth of thought, style, arts-sciences connections and relation to the theme. The winners received gift certificates from Argo Bookstore, and the winners and honourable mentions have been published and highlighted in the SPACE web magazine.

A fun and free event promoting well-being for all and physical fitness is coming to 七星彩开奖 Wednesday, March 29 from 11:45 a.m. to 1:50 p.m. in 3C.1.
Students are invited to for . The program includes Pound (鈥渞ocking out鈥�) fitness sessions, glow-in-the-dark yoga, free snacks and fun. If there is space, staff are also welcome to attend.
鈥淭he VIB tour only makes a few campus stops every year so I think 七星彩开奖 students are lucky to have this opportunity,鈥� said Julie Gosselin of Student Health Services, 七星彩开奖鈥檚 VIB coordinator. The event is sponsored by the RSEQ, Sports Experts and the Quebec Government.
25th Edition of Artists in Bloom is April 20

Springtime means that Artists in Bloom is back! The event will be in-person on Thursday, April 20 at 5:30 p.m. in 3C.1 It will also be possible to buy prints online from April 11-28. This year will be the fundraising event鈥檚 25th annual edition鈥� a quarter century! We are excited to welcome you to the event and to see what our talented student artists will produce. Advance tickets are only $20 and will be for sale as of Monday, March 27 in 2E.6 and 4A.1 Your ticket gives you entrance to the event, one drink and hors d'oeuvres.

笔补蝉蝉补驳别听by Christopher Chen follows the residents of two countries, Country X, which is occupied by Country Y, as they form unlikely friendships. The play investigates colonialism, and mysticism, and asks if friendships can be formed when there is a power imbalance or among warring factions. Inspired by the novel, 鈥淎 Passage to India.鈥� Passage is performed by second-year students and directed by Matt Enos.

Honouring legendary Montrealer and musician Oliver Jones and inspiring students are the objectives of a special evening being organized by members of 七星彩开奖鈥檚 Legacy Club with support from 七星彩开奖 staff, including the Campus Life and Leadership team, Community, Recreation and Leadership Training, Continuing Education and Community Services and the Communications Office.
鈥淥liver grew up in the Little Burgundy neighbourhood, home to the historic Union United Church, which is very close to the former Selby Campus of 七星彩开奖," said Simeon Pompey of the organizing committee. "Through his work/fame, he has influenced a lot of young Black people in Little Burgundy and Montreal to pursue higher education. It is very fitting that the College has endorsed the initiative to honour him.
鈥淒irectly and indirectly, young people鈥檚 lives were positively impacted. Through his charity work, Dr. Jones supported initiatives to help youth pursue post-secondary education.鈥�
The evening will include performances, tributes and opportunities for students to ask Dr. Jones questions. There will be guests from community organizations but the VIPs will be Black 七星彩开奖 students and students who are personally invited.

The Dear Joe Rose project started with a rose tattoo in 2011. A student of Kim Simard鈥檚 showed her his tattoo and shared the story of . He was working to get a plaque installed in the Conrod鈥檚 student space at 七星彩开奖 in honour and memory of Joe. This plaque was installed in 2013.
