ÆßÐDzʿª½± grad and member of rowing team saves a woman’s life
19-year-old Sam Roe does not believe in idly standing. Last week that was put to the test. The former ÆßÐDzʿª½± student and rowing team member is now a first year science student at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. He was out for his regular daily run when he saw a car disappear into the waters of Elevator Bay. Sensing the danger, Roe and another jogger took off their shoes and socks to plunge into the icy water after the elderly woman driver, who seemed trapped in the car. They got to the car, helped the woman open the door and then both grabbed her in order to get her out of the sinking vehicle. Both young men then swam her to the safety of the shore. Due to Roe’s quick action the woman only suffered minor injuries. Another graduate that we can be proud of!
