Your Course May Help to Achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)!

Dear Faculty,

In September 2015, Canada and all United Nations Member States adopted the  (the 2030 Agenda), a shared blueprint for partnership, peace and prosperity for all people and the planet, now and into the future.

As part of this Canadian initiative, the ÆßÐDzʿª½± Sustainability Office is working on including the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in its college-wide implementation plan. The SDGs address the global challenges we face, including poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace, and justice. We have identified sustainability related courses within programs, and we would like to encourage you to connect your course material and projects with one or more of the sustainable development goals. Our office can help with this. For example, a course or event that touches upon poverty, biodiversity or healthy communities can show the UN SDG icon on the course outline, a workshop being presented, or special event.

Last year only 4% of Canadians were aware of the SDGs. We would like to ensure that much more of our college community is aware of these important goals. If you would like more information, you can contact us at the current email address: sustainability@dawsoncollege.qc.ca

For more information about the 17 UN SDGs, please visit the or view this three-minute UN SDG introductory .

Thank you – we are looking forward to collaborating with you!
